1. Scope

This policy explains how RotaLark handles information when you use the RotaLark iPhone app and this website. “RotaLark,” “we,” and “us” refer to the individual developer identified as the seller on RotaLark's App Store listing.

2. Information handled by the app

Schedule and settings data

Shift assignments, hours, wage and rate settings, week-start preference, selected currency, and other app preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not operate an app server that receives this data. Depending on your iPhone and Apple Account settings, Apple's device-backup services may include app-container data in an encrypted device or iCloud backup.

Rota screenshots and recognized text

When you choose a rota screenshot, the app accesses only the image you select. Text recognition is performed on your device with Apple Vision. RotaLark does not upload the screenshot or recognized text. You can review and edit recognized rows before importing them.

Purchase and entitlement information

Apple processes payments for RotaLark Pro. The app receives the product, transaction, verification, expiry, revocation, and entitlement information needed to provide purchased features. We do not receive your full card or bank details. A limited entitlement cache is stored locally so existing access can be handled while offline.

Free-scan usage

A local counter records whether the included free rota scan has been used. The counter is not sent to us.

3. Information handled by this website

This public website does not provide accounts, forms, advertising, or behavioral analytics. Like most hosting services, the hosting provider may process basic technical request information—such as IP address, device or browser information, requested URL, and timestamps—to deliver and secure the site. We do not use that information to build advertising profiles.

4. How information is used

Information handled by the app is used to:

• display and edit your shift calendar;
• recognize rota text and prepare rows for your review;
• calculate hours, shift counts, and estimated pay;
• provide and restore RotaLark Pro features; and
• remember your settings on your device.

5. Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. We do not share rota screenshots, recognized rota text, schedules, or wage settings with advertisers or data brokers. Apple handles App Store purchases under Apple's own terms and privacy practices. The website hosting provider processes requests only as needed to operate and secure the public pages.

6. Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you change it, use the in-app Reset local data action, or delete the app. Reset clears the rota and returns app settings to their defaults. It does not cancel, remove, or refund purchases associated with your Apple Account, and it does not reset the local free-scan counter.

Deleting the app removes its local app container, including its locally stored schedule, settings, entitlement cache, and free-scan counter. Apple retains App Store purchase records under Apple's own policies. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.

A device or iCloud backup managed by Apple may retain an older copy of app-container data until that backup is replaced or deleted under your Apple Account and backup settings. RotaLark does not operate or access those backups.

7. Permissions

RotaLark requests photo-library access only when you choose to select a rota screenshot. You can change photo access in iOS Settings. Manual entry and repeating rotations remain available without photo access.

8. Security and international use

Keeping schedule content on the device reduces transfer and server-storage risk, but no device or software can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your iPhone with an iOS passcode and current system updates. RotaLark is initially offered in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

9. Children

RotaLark is a general shift-planning utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through an account or app backend.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when RotaLark changes or legal requirements evolve. The effective date and version shown above will identify the latest public policy.
